March 2009 - Stay Home Chai - 123 lbs of
Kenya tea was donated to the Project. March
28th - A memorial dinner in honor of Rose
Jerusha Njeri Mwangi, a former resident of
Uthiru, was hosted by her daughters for 50
friends in Boston. "Mother Rose's
Scholarship" will be awarded to a deserving
form one student.
April 18th - Houston's Southbriar
Neighborhood Garage Sale One; friends and
neighbors helped/donated furniture,
electronics, clothes, etc. filled a garage
over four weeks. Due to rain the sale lasted
two hours with funds being matched by a very
generous neighbor.
April 26th - Private Home Spa Party in
Houston; 15 friends gathered on the Sunday
afternoon for pampering with Beauti Control
Products, Massage Envy treats, raffles, good
food and friendship. This fun, relaxed event
raised funds for a partial scholarship.
May 2nd - Houston's Southbriar Neighborhood Garage
Sale Two neighbors helped raise more garage sale funds
and enjoyed a beautiful spring day followed by a
celebratory lunch. |
June 6th - Houston's Kenya House Auction
dinner party for 24 guests. Exclusive items
donated by family, friends and business
associates including memorabilia, art,
jewelry, African styles and Kenyan artifacts
were put up for a silent, live auction and
raffles.
June 16th - Private Ladies Game Night and
wine tasting dinner party for 20 guests. A
private wine collector supporting charity
events showcased wines and donated proceeds
to KSF.
June 28th - Private Kenyan celebration for
30-40 guests in Houston. A mini auction of
exclusive Kenyan items was be held.
October 17th - Ladies of Arabia High Tea for
16 guests in Houston. Kenyan tea and other
items were raffled

| Ladies of Arabia, a
private social group hosted a high
tea in Houston, Texas on 10/17/09.
Guests enjoyed entertainment, good
food and camaraderie. Enough funds
were raised to change a Kenyan
students life. |

Ladies of Arabia Committee and four
high school students who assisted in
an afternoon High Tea for services
hours. Their motto is "young U.S.
women making a difference towards
young Kenyan women". |
